We dove completely in to our project last week! We finished publishing our collaborative African Animal books and then started creating our Life-Sized African Animals. To get a hands-on feel for how big our animals really are, we used measuring skills to draw 2 dimensional life-sized pictures of our animals. After collaboratively drawing our animals, groups studied the fur or skin of their animal and mixed the paint colors they needed to paint them. This week, we will finish painting our animals and then cut them out and hang them in our hallway for everyone to see. We will also be creating other things that will help turn our hallway into an African Savanna!
We look forward to seeing you all at our PBL Showcase on Thursday evening. This is an open house format ~ plan to come with your family between 6 & 7:30 to walk around the school and see all of the amazing PBL projects happening at QAE.
